Max Muscle’s CoQ10

July 22, 2009

Max Muscle CoQ10 review

CoQ10 is a coenzyme that is involved in the energy production of every single cell in your body. CoQ10 supplementation can help people who aren’t able to produce enough CQ10 naturally.  Most people who either get heart disease or gum disease seem to not produce the typical amounts of CoQ10 as the general population.  CoQ10 has been shown in some clinical studies to reverse gum deterioration.  CoQ10 is a promising supplement involved in the energy production of all of our cells.  If our cells aren’t able to produce the correct amount of energy our cells will either get sick or die earlier than programmed.

Alpha Lipoic Acid

July 15, 2009

Alpha Lipoic Acid is a coenzyme that is involved in producing energy from sugar. Alpha Lipoic Acid 300 contains 300mg of Alpha Lipoic Acid per capsule. Alpha Lipoic Acid acts as a metabolic antioxidant, recycling antioxidant vitamins and protecting cells from free radical damage. Humans don’t make enough Alpha Lipoic Acid to get the antioxidant effect from it, the only way is through supplementation. Doses as high as 600mg per day help in the production of the energy producing molecule ATP. Alpha Lipoic Acid is a versatile molecule helping protect our bodies from damage and helping produce energy properly.

Servings = 60-30 servings/1-2 caps per day

Directions = Take 1-2 capsules daily with food

Dark Chocolate vs. Milk Chocolate: Which is Healthier

June 7, 2008

Dark Chocolate has many antioxidants, the antioxidants known as polyphenols and catechins.

The polyphenol families of procyanidins & epicatechins are strong antioxidants also found in many plants and vegetables including red grapes & wine. Proanthocyanidins play a role in the making of collagen & elastin and can lead to a stronger circulatory system. Proanthocyanidins are also shown to speed up recovery from plactic surgery. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proanthocyanidin

Catechins, in particular epicatechin found in dark chocolate, can reduce the risk of four of the major health problems: stroke, heart failure, cancer and diabetes.

Milk Chocolate has no antioxidant activity due to milk binding the antioxidants. To take advantage of the antioxidant activity of chocolate you need to have 70% cocoa solids and no milk.
